How has technology changed your job?

Personally, I’ve been fortunate to have the kind of job that relies on its older clientele to spread the word. We serve more elders than the younger generation in my opinion, so customers usually hear about us from word of mouth. Now, technology has given us such a tough time through the absolute worst moments. If you’ve ever been in contact with a modern POS system, it makes you either blow a sigh of relief, or you want to scrape your eyes out. Usually it’s the latter for me because they’re just so annoying. Especially if the wifi isn’t properly connecting to our POS, so then our printer is giving out while some old man is pressing you about his soup that you missed or the constant, “Leave room for cream in the coffee!” It all just blows if everything is not running smoothly.

Now, I have been unfortunate enough that I have had to go online and look for a job. In society today, the market is a joke. AI has completely taken over and you will most likely get an interview with a complete robot rather than an actual human being. Is this even real life? What is real about this? While looking for a job, it’s just sad that there are so many fake job listings that could fool anyone. You are actively looking for a job, you need the money, and yet someone with the skills thinks it’s beneficial to post an AI fake listing on top of the monstrous pile of scams already created. I’m grateful I have not stumbled upon an actual robot yet, I’ve seen that they frequent in places like LA or China. Why is one of my biggest fears currently, being chased by one of those tiny robots while they’re laughing at me. I’ve actually seen that happen, look it up, it’s embarrassing that there’s so many videos of that happening.

Technology has obviously helped, that’s a no brainer. It has helped civilization progress but it’s very bittersweet because of that same reason. Technology has helped a bunch but technology keeps evolving, it doesn’t just stop. People see one thing created and then there’s suddenly a video of AI fruit people having babies and cheating on each other. The more technology continues, the more it will be too much.
